methylprednisolone issues

i've been suffering from poison sumac now for 10 days. on day 8 i went to the doc's office. he prescribed me methylprednisolone. today will be my third day on the the six day (21 tablet 4ng) med-pack. since starting the rx my face has swollen up to the point where it is hard to see, the sumac rash seems to be spreading more each hour, i have been having trouble sleeping and controlling my anger/frustration/depression. i also have been haveing cold flahes that feel like i'm being dunked in to ice water. i itch like crazy and want tome relief, i have been using hydrocortizone cream to help with the itching sensations. but that only helps for about 10-25 mins max. i feel misserable constantly and i want to know if this is "normal" to be swelling and having this rash continue to worsen. i know this is only  day 3 on the rx but still. at my appointment the doc said i may have to stay on this for another week or more. not sure if i can handle it though. so my questions reamin:
how long does the swelling last?
will this swelling stop?
will this rash start clearing up soon?
should i stop taking this?
i have so many questions and my doc wont return my calls so if you have any info on any thing that may help me, please send it to me. i desperatly need it. thank you and G blesss

I will dispense with the usually welcomes because I think it is important you so something now. Please go to urgent care or ER if your physician has not returned your calls and have this swelling checked out.

Your swelling should not continue to increase.
