I agree with tuckamore 100%. Having had the same problem ( epididymitis ) I can relate to the pain, for it has me all but buckled over in pain and they had to give me demerol in the ER, for it felt like someone squezzing the same problem area you described. I was referred to a urologist who put me on antibiotics, but for whatever reason, it took me months to fully get over it. It's pain is something I will never forget and I will certainly be glad to remember you and the others here in prayer. Take care and I hope you'll be better ASAP. Inspectorgadget1956
Hello Mej23,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry you are having this pain. There are a multitude of reasons for your discomfort.
On the upper, outer, back position of the testicle lies a connected but separate structure called the epididymis, which stores sperm. This can become infected, again for multiple reason and when infected it is called, epididymitis. Usually this pain has a gradual onset.
This is also a condition called orchitis, an infection or inflammation of the testicle. This can occur with or without epididymis. Orchitis also may occur with a viral infection.
STD's can cause testicular pain. There is a urology forum on MedHelp that may be a better forum to post your question. At any rate the most important thing you can do is to see your PCP for an evaluation. This should not be ignored.
Good luck to you. Take care, Tuck
