Some people have longer toes than others and have to wear a bigger size to accommodate them. Your shoes could be too tight around the toes area cutting of the circulation making them go numb. Do you have problems when your not wearing shoes?

It can be due to a number of things, from something as easy-to-fix as ill-fitting shoes to more serious things, like diabetes.  I would try wearing comfortable shoes for a few days, and if the problem persists, I'd see a doctor for some blood work to make sure your sugar levels are not out of whack or that there's maybe not pressure on a nerve somewhere.
