on Morphine

My husband is on Morphine every 8 hours for chronic pain on his left shoulder that was fused 2 years ago.... does anybody know about this drug or the kind of surgery he's had?

The med is morphine ( Narcotic ) , C-2 controlled substense and basicly it's just a high powered opiate based med.

what dosage? Just curious , Karol

If it gives him relief and allows him to function then it's great! If it stops giving relief they should try upping the dose or changing to something like Kadian. MSContin (a long acting morphine) was good for awhile and then lost effectiveness.......changed to Kadian and made a real difference. It also helps if it is a pain center or doctor giving this medication. They know how to work with it.
