Hello afsar and welcome to the Pain Forum:

I agree with Tuck, There is not enough information given to properly advise you on your friends matter. The NASIDS will help with the inflammation and with the spasms I feel that a Muscle Relaxer is in order.

Your friend needs to be re-evaluated by a Physician and Like Tuck said, an MRI or CT Scan ( imaging of the area in pain ) might be a good idea. Please take care and good luck,

Hello Asfar,

I am uncertain of your question. Do you want to know if we think he has been prescribed the correct medication for the back pain? I will assume that is your question.

The drowsiness you describe may be related to medications they have prescribed for sinus problems or an allergic rhinitis, such as an antihistamines.

I have no idea how about the medical community in Pakistan. I do not know what may be usual or unusual. From my perspective in the USA your friend needs more detailed medical evaluation. The back pain you describes leads me to think that he needs an MRI or a CT with contrast to better view what may be going on with his spine. The pain you describe may need more than NSAID's to control it.

I suggest that your friend return to his PCP and explain that the pain is not relieved by the medication that was prescribed. He should also request further diagnostic studies. I wish your friend the very best and hope my suggestions have been helpful. Others will post with their opinions but Sunday's tend to be slower than week days.

Good luck to your friend. He is very blessed to have such a concerned and good friend as you. Please let us know how he is doing. Peace, Tuck
