When I got my galbladder removed my dr said that this might night take care of the pain that I might still have it.
It turns out I did still have it and it was acid reflux it caused vomiting and alot of back pain and it was worse when I layed down.
Sometimes tums would help my pain but there is a pill called Nexuim it is called the purple pill that pill took all my pain away cause it is made for acid reflex. i am not saying this is what you have but it would be a good thing if you look into it. that pill made me feel so much better but here are cheaper pills out there that help also with acid reflex that you don't even have to go to the dr for they are OTC. Look up acid reflex on the net and see if that sounds like the problems and the pain your having or talk to your dr about it.
Hang in there

Hello Maryjane,

Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post but so sorry to hear about your pain since surgery.

Do I understand your post correctly, you liver functions become abnormal and as they return to normal you are discharged from the hospital and your pain is better?? Can you clarify the last few sentences of your post?

If this began just after the gallbladder removal was something injured during the surgery? It would be something that I would want to know. Have you consulted another surgeon? If not I certainly would. If you liver function tests are off than it seems pretty obvious that the pain is related to the liver.

What are your physicians telling you? No one has to live with this type of recurring pain. When it is the worse you should seek treatment. It gives the medical providers a better idea of what is happening to you.

Can you clarify those sentences and let us know what tests have been done and what your physicians beleive is going on?

Please let us know a bit more about your symptoms. I am so very sorry you are struggling with this apparent undiagnosed pain.  I will look forward to your nest post.

Take Care,
~Tuck
