my 4 year old son has had pain in the back of his kne for 8 days now the hospital said it was reactive arthurits im not convinced it is its showing no sign of going anywhere its very painfull during night and in the morning and practicualy goes late afternoon

I think you need to take your son to another dr to see what can be done for the pain. It is hard to treat a 4 year old that is in pain. When my son had surgery I couldn't get him to take any pain meds just over the counter stuff. Does that stuff help with your sons pain? Does he have a family dr you can take him too?

Chronic pain and arthritis pain levels can vary quite a bit throughout the month or throughout the week.  My husband and I both have arthritis and bone spurs that get worse in stormy weather (low pressure systems).  
I would definetly bring your son to a doctor for further testing.  It could be a number of different things.
