I have the same kind of buttock pain going to my groin and had been diagnosed with herniated discs and bulges and sacroiliac joint dysfunction . After getting treatment for those things I was still having the pain in my butt ox and then couldn't sit for long or stand for long . I'm so glad I saw a doctor who ordered an MRI of my hips and found that I have bursitis in my hips and some tears in those buttocks muscles . Now going to see an arthroscopic surgeon who is orthopedic . I hope this helps many of you who suffer from the same symptoms and can't find a solution . My biggest help for my herniated discs was VAX D . Find a doctor in your state that has this machine and only this machine, it is proven and I know personally that it works for herniated and bulging discs in low back . Good luck to you
going for a cat scan thanks for your help
Hello Candi,
Welcome. I am sorry to hear about your long term pain. We can relate.
Buttocks pain is usually due to compression/impingement, inflammation or injury to the sciatic nerve, often in the structure of the spine. An inflamed SIJ (Sacroiliac Joint) can sometimes cause sciatica also. Sciatica is not a condition, it is a symptom and there are other causes of it.
Please consult your PCP. He/she may begin with an x-ray to view your spinal structure. In my opinion you may require some detailed imaging to determine exactly what is causing your pain.
Life is too short to live it with untreated chronic pain. I hope you will keep us updated and let us know what you discover. We're here to offer our support.
Best of Luck,
~Tuck
