pain

i had an ingrown toe nail operated on by a doctor a few years ago. It went well and my toenail was fixed. But i remember the pain was unbearable for a good few nights after it. It was a really long aching pain and i got absolutely no sleep for the first night. The thing is... ive got another ingrown toe nail! so im gonna have to see the doctor i guess. but this time i'd like to have something to stop the pain. could you reccomend anything? like deep freeze, would this work?

cheers, andy

Hello Hertz,

I am glad you found us at the Pain Management Forum of MedHelp, welcome. You are correct that treatment of an ingrown toe nail can be excruciating for awhile. I am sorry that you have another one to go through.

When you see the physician again I would just tell him your experience last time. I would ask him/her to provide something for a few days to ease your pain. If you allow them the choice you will usually do better than requesting a specific drug. And to be honest what works for one in a given situation may not work as well for another.

Best of luck to you. I hope that this procedure will be less painful than the last. We'll look forward to your updates.
Peace, Tuck
