Hello:

Neuropathy pain is a feeling of your nerves being on fire, especially in your limbs. If they are exposed to cold, it will make them feel like you have frostbite. Exposed to hot, your limbs will feel like it is hotter than it really is.

Anything touching the skin can be very uncomfortable although I have found that if the room is cold, covering up the arm or leg completely can be comforting.

I would suggest that if you suspect that you have this disorder, please take Tuck's advise and have the Doctor do an EMG study.

Please take care and good luck.

Hello and Welcome to the Pain Management Forum.

Neuropathy pain is caused by damage to the peripheral nervous system. There are many symptoms that accompany this condition but that is not your question.

The most common test to determine if you suffer from Neuropathy damage is an
Electromyography (EMG). You can develop this condition by disease or injury. Sometimes a Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) tests is also ordered as it can precisely measure the degree of damage to fibers. A MRI will examine muscle quality and size which can also be effected in cases of Neuropathy damage.

I hope that answers your question. If not please feel free to expand on it. Good luck to you and take care, Tuck
