I read somewhere that they did put a limit on the amount of pills they will pay for recently. I don't remember where I read it, but you can usually find something on your particular states medicaid website. Hopefully you'll be able to confirm it.

LOL Phil,

It's just a term used when the Doctor puts a red sticker on your record that  says NO MORE NARCOTICS.

Actually, there is. It rests in the DEA database requiring centralized reporting whenever an opiate prescription is filed. It is used to identify "doctor shoppers". Frankly, I don't like the idea, but "what is, is". If a patient gets flagged on this list the pharmacy may refuse to fill the prescription and the physician refuse to write script. The DEA will notify the physician that his scripting writing authority for opiates may be suspended, and he is under a "watch". You will not see this notice, nor have access to it.

I'm not sure what "red flagging" means.

Your doctor can make a note in a chart. Most pharmacies have patient prescription monitoring systems in place for tracking users of controlled substances. Your pharmacist can make a comment in your record.

But there is no "red flag" system in place in this state or country of which I'm aware.

good luck best wishes

You don't, unless he tells you. The records are maintained by the DEA and are confidential.
