rib pain

by CCRider219, Oct 07, 2007 03:37PM
3 years ago I had a lung resection on my left lung to remove a large fungus.  Since then I have had a lot of pain in my left lower rib area of the resection.  If i twist the wrong way I get what feels like a charlie horse that lasts about 3 to 10 seconds.  I have to hold the rib when this happens and it is very painfull.  But I also have a dull to moderate pain all the time in that area.  I have been told by the surgeon that he hears this complaint alot after surgery but most of the time it goes away.  Well, mine has not and seems to be getting worst as the years go by.  I am not getting any answers from doctors and have no idea why this is happening or what it is.  I did some research on the internet and found info in intercostal nerve damage.  I am not sure but I think this might be what is happening to me.  Has anyone had this problem or know anything about this.  I would like some information on this.  I hate not knowing what is going on.
