serious ankle pain

i had an ankle twist two months ago.but i didnt go to any doctor bcoz i know he would tell me to stop playing and i didnt want to do that bcoz i was gaining weight.anyways, i have been playing continuously with this pain for till now and the pain is getting severe and i am having problem walking. THE PAIN IS NOW IN THE BACK LOWER PART OF MY RIGHT ANKLE WHERE THE STRONG NERVE IS. my mother tried massaging it with hot oil but it doesnt seem to be improving. i am retiring from playing for now to see the changes.

if anyone have any idea what i should do, Please feel free to post ur suggestions...thanks alot...

I also get ankle pain from sciatica. The pain is on the outside ankle right behind the bone. I know how painful this can be. I go up and down stairs to my office at least 10 times a day and it's a serious struggle to do that. Have you considered getting an ankle brace? I have one that I wear and it keeps your ankle straight. You can get one with metal inserts or if it needs to be more flexible you can get a compression brace.

My pain is due to lumbar back problems. Have you had an MRI of your lumbar spine? What you are describing sounds a lot like a herniated disk caused sciatica. If there is no swelling than that's what it probably is. Try taking an OTC NSAID's like Advil or Aleve. If there is swelling that is causing pain this could bring down the swelling and help the pain.

I am sure you are aware that you may have done permanent, irreversible damage to your injury site. I hope you will consult a physician and obtain proper treatment. But you didn't ask a question or my opinion....so I'll just wish you the best of luck.
