Hello and welcome to the Pain Management Forum. At your age I imagine you are self- conscious of the knee discoloration. Does it cause you any discomfort?
It sounds to me as if it may be a form of dermatitis. Have you applied any of the OTC creams to the area? Sometimes a healing good lotion will help. Have you tried a OTC Hydrocortisone cream or ointment? Topical corticosteroids are indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic (itching) conditions of corticosteroid-responsive dermatitis, an example of this is psoriasis. Hydrocortisone is usually applied to the affected area in a thin film 2 to 4 times per day depending on the severity of the condition.
Your best answers, along with solutions will come from your PCP or a dermatologist. I suggest that you make an appointment with one of them.
I hope you are successful in obtaining a solution to your skin issue. Please feel free to keep in touch with us and let us know how you are doing.
