stabbing pain on upper left side

Started last week, just walking the stabbing pain started, when I bend over or move different the stabbing pain starts, takes my breath away, not a constent pain, pain about a 8 or 9. Pain is in my left side under my breast, when the pain starts it travels down to my navel? Called the Dr. but can't get an appointment until next week. Any one else have this problem.

I did have a bad fall a couple of weeks ago?

I agree with what Jamlws said.  Maybe you should go to an ER.  With a pain level that high, having had a fall, and it's sudden onset, you may not want to wait until next week.  (Of course with my luck I'd go and I wouldn't be having the pain when I got there.)

You may want to keep a log of dates, time, activity, etc. of when you get the pain.  That way when you have your appointment you can accurately relay it to the physician.  It's often hard to describe pain and sometimes when we think back on pain we had (but are not having right at the moment) it's hard to rate it and we either minimize it or exaggerate it.  Keeping a little log may help.

Best of luck.  Hope you let us know what's going on.

I don't have that pain. I just wanted to say if the pain gets bad you can always go to a urgent care or the ER to get checked out instead of having to wait to be seen by your doctor. Some pains can wait and some can't you just have to see if this one can or cant wait. 8 or 9 is pretty bad pain so I would get it checked out asap.
Best of luck to you
