stopped taking pain pills over 2 days ago

Some say the 3rd day off an opioid is the worse.  Is this true, because tommorrow is my 3rd day.  I really don't want to feel any worse than I do.  Secondary to the depression and increase in knee and back pain I can barely make it minute by minute, let alone, "ONE DAY AT A TIME"  Is there any thing i can do to decrease the intensity of the detox .and really how many days is it until your really back to normal, after being on pills about 6 months straight?
PLEASE HELP

Hello Shanna,

Welcome to MedHelp. I assume you are not in pain or you would not be trying to stop taking opiates. If that is the case I hope that you have heeded Jollyman's advice and posted your question on the Addiction Substance Forum. The support there is wonderful. They are much more knowledgeable in your question than we are at the Pain Management Forum. If you are having pain issues than this is the correct forum to discuss those and post any questions you may have.

It is my opinion that is takes weeks sometimes months to work through withdrawal, depending on what you were taking and how long you were on it. You are courageous and I admire you for getting clean. I wish you the very best. Take care, Tuck
