throbbing headache

i have a throbbing headache which started in 2010. sometimes its just one side and sometimes whole head hurts .it happened with 3 to 4 months gap but recently it is happening more frequently , with hardly 4 days gap.

Sounds troublesome.
Simple headaches can occur from excess stress, muscle tension, nerve disease, TMJ, spine disease, high blood pressure, and from many other exotic reasons -- some of them medically dangerous. They also occur as part of the caffeine withdrawal syndrome for those who enjoy drinking a lot of coffee.
If your headaches are not relieved with an OTC remedy like aspirin and rest, you might consider seeing your doctor for a workup.
