Nerve damage is usually permanent. However it does get easier to deal with over time. Your dad would benefit from physical therapy. It will teach him how to walk ect with the nerve damage. Is the dizziness from the nerve damage or blood pressure and where is the nerve at that was damaged? If the dizziness is from nerve damage it is not so much dizziness as it is vertigo. They are kinda the same thing but with vertigo you have problems with your balance and it is common in people with nerve damage to their back/leg nerves. If he is dizzy because of his blood pressure the only thing I know to do is get a doctor appointment have his blood pressure checked. Is he on any medication for hbp? It may need adjusted and if the doctor does not want to help him get a second opinion. There is no treatment for nerve damage. Nerves regenerate the width of a index card a year so it depends on how severe the damage is. Outside of pt and maybe getting him a walker until he adjust to the damage there is nothing you can really do. He should be able to learn how to improve his muscle control and that will improve his walking. Just be there for your dad, it sounds as if you already are and the biggest thing for anyone with health problems is having someone there for them. Good luck to you both.
