hi volfan62,
i often have issues with my hands and wrists due to tendonitis. my saving grace to be full honest is a hand/wrist brace and tiger balm. i found the tiger balm works a lot better then icy hot and smells better to lol. hope you find something that helps!

Give Aleve (naproxen) a try.  Fair warning: it's harder on the stomach than Advil so if you get an upset stomach from these kinds of medications, take it with food.  Check with your doctor and pharmacist first to be sure it won't interact badly with any prescribed medications.

It sounds like what you do for a living isn't allowing your surgical injuries to heal.  Have you done any occupational/ physical therapy to try to find better working techniques that won't continue to aggravate your wrist?

Hi volfan,

First I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. I want to let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum only CP - Chronic Pain - Patients that help each other with our OWN expertise and experiences that we have developed through our OWN CP Issues.

I'm not sure what OTC med might be better than Advil.  IF I were you I'd ask your Pharmacist as they know MORE about the medicine than even the Doctor's do.  :)

I hope that you will let us know what you find out from your Pharmacist.  :)..Sherry
