6 YEAR OLD BEHAVOIR

My daughter who is 6 has for the past week been crying and screaming at the top of her lungs, she has never done this before and is usually a very good girl but again for the past week she has been crying and screaming at the top of her lungs for no reason.  When it starts I tell her to go to her room for a time out then that is when the screaming starts.
My question is this normal behavoir for a 6 year old to start screaming at the top of her lungs?

As this behavior has started suddenly it would be a good idea to check out anything that has happened recently to upset her, sending her to her room will not help you find out what is the problem, when she dies it distract her with a game or take her outside for a walk.  Has she started a new school has she made new friends , new home ,new Baby in the Family?any relations she was fond of not around anymore . Something has upset her, ask her pertinent questions ,like how is school ,did you have a nice day today, what did you learn, what games did you play with your friends.good luck
