Discipline Differences with Spouse. NEED HELP!

I am at a loss as to what to do.  Our 7 yr old is very smart, but also very sneaky and when he does things wrong, my spouse will berate him with questions until she gets the truth out of him and my child seems to get nervous/scared and just keeps lying to try to get out of the uncomfortable situation.  It's gotten to a point where even if our child is telling the truth, it's hard to believe him.  I think she needs to pick her battles, but she thinks that the behavior and the lying is a personal attack on her and she gets very angry about it and says hurtful things to our child, which cannot be taken back.  I am at a loss. I love my wife dearly, but I am not sure how much I can take of this behavior towards our child.  Please help me.

I have the exact same situation and I have tried the conseling and everything I can think of under the sun. Now I just hide the behavior from my spouse and handle it when me and my daughter Re alone. I'm not suggesting you do this but my only other solution would of been divorce. I love my spouse and honestly all divorce would of done is give my daughter a mini vacation from the verbal abuse.

If you cannot resolve this situation with your wife through discussion, then I think that you really have no choice but to seek either marital or family counseling.  Her behavior sounds as if it is taking a major toll on your son emotionally and behaviorally.
