My 8 year old can't get to sleep.

We have never made a habit of staying with our children till they are asleep (well, past the age of 2 1/2 anyway).  They have always gone to bed, and usually stay there.  The last couple of months my 8 year old will not try to go to sleep.  She stays awake all night.  She stalls for a couple of minutes at bedtime, but usually stays in bed, but will not try to sleep.  How do we help her? School starts soon and she needs to get some sleep! So do I!

How do you know does she tell you next day? How do you know its all night.Has any thing nnew or worrying happened to her recently any new siblings ,can you pinpoint any issues may make her anxious, Maybe let her get on with it, if she stays  in bed its not really affecting you, dont react to it, I expect she will sleep when she wants to.
