Plastic Holiday Flowers

The kids can have a nice time making inexpensive outdoor plastic flowers of different colors for an outdoor tree. You round up small plastic soft-drink containers with the plastic caps of many different colors. Yellow bottles. Blue bottles. Orange bottles. Leave the screw-on cap on. It wilol be used to link the flowers with a string or wire for hanging. With a rounded scissor cut around the bottle, just where it becomes a cylinder. Then have the kids snip "petals".  You can make various flowers with eight petals or very thin ones with twelve petals. At a distance outside the colored plastic "flowers" make a delightful appearance. Use them on any tree or on a fence.
