Puberty Question

My daughter is 12 yrs old. She started developing breast just before she turned 11. She complains of stomach aces a lot. I was just wondering if anyone knows how long after the onset of puberty, does the mensus rear its ugly head. She sure shows all the symptoms.

thanks

Thank you, for all your advise. I don't remember being this difficult w/ my parents. I guess my Mom never really talked about it. I learned from my older sisters. I guess I just want to stay on top of things with her and maybe explain "some" of her behavior to her Dad. Thanks again!

From my own experience, I used to have horrible stomach aches when I was 11 and 12--some of the pain was in my back.  I started when I was 13.  I was very thin and really didn't have breasts.

I don't have painful periods now--so maybe she will not.

My Dr said that periods start usually 2 yrs after "budding" of the breasts but it was a little longer than that for my daughter.  So yes she could be getting ready to start.  But at first it could be just spotting. It may not happen again for a few months. It could be a yr or more before she is regular.  Talk some more with the Dr. or do some research on your own.

Is anyone here going through this same transition with their daughter or better yet, have already gone through it and can give me some advise?
