How do I encourage my pre-teen to flush the toilet? I almost always have to remind him to go back and flush after exiting the bathroom. My husband says that he does not feel it is an important issue and that I should just let it go and flush for him. Am I expecting too much?
Well, I wish I had an answer to this one! You just have to keep grinding on about it until eventually he gets the message. It must be inconvenient for him to keep being sent back so I'd say keep making him go back even if he has to stop(especially if he has to stop!) doing something more interesting in order to do so. If he is under 5 you could be a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys forgiving about this, but over 5's know how to remember to flush.
I don't think you should let it go just because it is easier to say nothing and do it yourself, lets faceFace pain it, that's why we end up washing the dishes ourselves, loading and emptying the dishwasher ourselves, clearing away plates left in the familyBirth control and family planning Choosing a primary care provider Ewing’s sarcoma Family troubles - resources room, picking up dropped towels.....................I think you can tell I have teenagers in my house!
Depending on how goal orientated he is, you could try a star chart with a reward for flushing. Good luck!
