Tween behavior is challenging ...please help

I am happily married with tween daughter who has 2 younger siblings. She is extremely gifted in all areas of school and gets bored easily.  Anyhow starting this past summer, she has been so rude, mean, disrespectful towards entire family. We are a spiritual family that is very nurturing to kids. We try to discipline by taking away play dates and screen time. It just makes her angrier at us. I do not know what to do. She is very active and busy with sports and music. But seems to give everyone in the family attitude. And everything makes her upset at this age. I find myself being critical (i want to be more positive) and it is so hard. I find myself fighting with her to get stuff done (clean up, chores). What type of discipline works at this age? Why are children so rude these days? She is not spoiled at all with material things. I do not understand. Please help. I am worried this is ruining my relationship with her.
