I agree with SM that she shouldn't own an Ipad that she has free access to when she's 8.

I also think you need to look at specifically what she was watching - was it pretty standard sex,  or was it a fetish movie involving violence or very odd sexual behaviors?

Well, first . . .   she lost her ipad, obviously.  You DO have control over that and now she is not allowed on ipads or computers without supervision.  I never let my kids age 9 and 10 have free control over the internet. I do parental blocks.  I mean, even just googling around ----  they put in a word by accident that pops up sites that are inappropriate.  Same for youtube.  my kids can not just surf youtube.  Most parents I know have these same philosophies and it does cut down on accidentally hitting on a site that is not for kids.  (heck, I don't even like cussing).

So, I would not allow her to just 'have' her ipad.

Then, ask her if someone showed the sites to her or if she found them and if she found them, then how.  Let her know that those depictions aren't what real life is like.  That the people in those videos are often on drugs (which they honestly mostly are) and it is so demeaning and disrespectful to women.  That when she is older, she will learn about love making and that is NOT porn.

If she starts acting out and seems over sexualized----  you'll need a therapist.

So much for her innocence though.  this is very unfortunate.  The internet has some good things about it but plenty of bad.  Ruining your daughters image of sex at 8 years old is definitely a downside to the internet.

Keep a closer eye on her and get some parental controls.  good luck
