Worried about my 12 month old daughter

by kristen40, Oct 08, 2009 01:44AM
The reason why Im worried about my 12 month old daughter is because My son ( 2yrs 8month) has a speech delay. When he was 18months old he started recieving speech theopy and I've been though alot of emotions in the process. Around 12 month his language was fine but once he hit the age of 18 months stopped talking. My daughter on the other hand is doing some baby sign language and uses 5 words verbally but not always clear. Im just afraid that she's going to also stop talking. Are speech delays considered genetic? Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening again?
