acrylic nails on a 11 and 8 year old

I am getting married in June and I am taking all of my bridesmaids to get our nails done.  My 11 year old and my 8 year old are in my wedding. Will it hurt them if they get "fake" nails for the wedding?

I would think the shop could do a really pretty simple child's manicure and polish that would make their hands look special and they'd have the salon experience.

I think long fake nails on children would look very out of place - but pretty polished and painted nails would be great.

I agree with RockRose, a nice manicure is fine; fake nails on children, that's a little over the top and potentially tacky.
