anger management

my 6 year old daughter has a lot of anger. mostly she listens but you never know when she will start crying in the street and anywhere. she dosnot mix up with people from outside, but when people come to our house and she goes to my office she talks a lot, in the house she talks a lot,  i have to say please stop. and in the school or day care shewont open her mouth. it is very difficult to manage such a situation.

I suspect you are not dealing with anger but with anxiety.  It also appears that your daughter is selectively mute.  Please read the FAQ's on the site "selectivemutism.org" as well as the downloads and resources.  There also a a forum where you can post questions.  You are right - if your child is suffering from selective mutism, it is a very difficult situation and I expect you may require professional help.  The first place to start is to contact your daughter's pediatrician or family doctor.  If he/she is unable to advise you further, then ask for a referral to a specialist with experience in anxiety disorders.  Let me assure you - if your daughter is selectively mute (or sm as we often call it), she is not behaving this way on purpose; it is her fears/anxieties which prevent her from speaking and causing her to cry.  I wish you the best...
