help with my son who is afraid of a movie preview

My 8 year old son recently went to the movies. At the movie he was seeing there was a preview for the end of the world movie. It had a very bad effect on him. Several times throughout the day he thinks of this preview and gets scared and upset. He verbalizes this to us and we tell him he is safe and mommy and daddy will not let anything happen to him. What can we tell him or how can we help him conquer his fears?

It will fade from his mind , make no more issue of it when he brings it up, just say as you have been doing that everything is okay , then let it drop, distract him with other talk .
