Fatherly Advice for College son

How do you tell your 20 year old son, who asked for money to pay back his mother for miscelaniuos expense, that he should not have to pay back her with his college fund money because is mother was given child support payments of $2400 per month for 5 years that included a setaside college savings that the mother should have maintained but did not.

I do not want to look like a jerk Dad by telling him that this was part of the partnering and child support plan from the TN child support laws.

I tried to have her tell him with no success.

"You don't have to pay your mother back for legitimate college expenses because your mother has already been reimbursed for those,  as a part of the partnering and child support plan we legally set in motion.  If you need to see the paperwork I'll copy it for you,  as well as copy it and remind your mother of it."

Are you serious?? your son should be out of your house already and working? yeah he had to pay her mom...does he know the word gratitude??? his mom could have spend the money in Vegas instead she put that in his college fun because she's a responsible mom to him. I hope your son knows that. How lucky he is.
