What has he been watching or what has someone been saying to him,has a family member passed away or a pet,  How long has he been like this did it start suddenly perhaps you can pinpoint a happening prior.to the issue.  Reasure him but dont feed into it, the more you say the more it will become, tell him all is well , then let it go. Good Luck

He said he saw it on tv and read it online. I've been trying not to bring it up, but when he's ready to go to bed he gets so scared and he told me he won't be able to sleep good until the day the world is supposed to come to a end is over and done...

He could be having anxiety attacks. Have you tried cutting out TV or computer too see if it changes things any?

If it does change for the better cutting out TV & computer than you know what you have to do, now if it still continues, a dcotor visit may be in order.

He is young and still growing, he needs his sleep to grow up healthy...

I agree that it would be wise to cut back online stuff at night also have a block on there is some pretty graphic stuff up there, its obviously disturbing him, tell him to read some books how about you play some board games with him, see if he sleeps better.

maybe, you're allowing your child to watch horror or movies about death and end of the world. This is my speculation, your child has been traumatized by these movies that's why the scenes from the movie are stocked in his brain and remembers it when he's going to sleep. I think you should consult a psychologist to cure your child unless, he will suffer until his adolescence.

Alright, right now I am thirteen, but when I was 9-12 I was afraid with the same things. I would ask and talk about it with my mom and step dad, but they didn't really halp. My step dad would get into it and say stuff like 'you never know. I got used to it and now I just think, what the heck, no regrets! But right now I will say, I was scared to the point where I stayed up so long that the sun was already risen. I grew out of it, or something like that. So, just get all sciencificty and stuff. Encourage him to live life to the fullest every day and then he might not be so scared that he might die any night because the world might end. Then again, I was more afraid that God was the one to just give up on us and with a snap of his fingers only darkness would remain... Is that what he ia kinda afraid of, or what?
