Improper Imperforate Anus Check?

During a routine exam for a four or five year old, are there any reasons for a pediatrician to perform an imperforate anus check?

I didn't know what an imperforate anus was, so I looked it up. From what I read, it's something that's diagnosed at birth..
Doesn't sound right to me..
