My 2 year old says only 4 words!!!

My little girl will be 2 on July 17th, and she only says about 4 words (only if I really push on her to do it). She mainly gunts or speaks through hand jesters. I asked the doctor what to do and was told to force her to speak in a sense. But when I ask her what she wants and keep trying to get her to say what she wants, she gets starts to get frustrated and upset. I know she can hear me just fine, and is very stubborn (if she doesn't want to do something there is no way and nothing you can do or take away that will convince her other wise). I am just very worried, my other little girl could speak full sentences at 10 months.. I dont know what to do. Any advice??

Hi, I would say to look into early intervention.  She may have a speech delay.  My son is 27 mos, and I had him checked last month, and indeed he has a delay.  He was only saying a few clear words, but mostly babbling a jargon.  A speech therapist comes to my home once a week, and I'm seeing lot's of improvement.  I wouldn't worry about it, but if she's not picking up many words from your other daughter, I would definitely get her some individualized help from a speech therapist.  Best of luck!
