Separation anxiety to the max!

by a_badder, Aug 30, 2009 09:01PM
My son is 19 Months old and within the last 2 weeks he has developed severe night time separation anxiety.  I don't know what to do.  He screams under the door until he is hoarse and he refuses to stay in bed.  I try to let him cry it out, but his hysterical sobbing and screaming is worrying so I go in to check on him.  As soon as he sees me he instantly stops crying and wants to be cuddled.  He has a night light and we have a 30 minute quiet time and snack before bed, but it seems like nothing that we are doing is working.  How do I get over this hump?
