I tried everything! and she never stopped..She would say its her thumb and she needs to..
So at 5 they start K so I tried talking to her and telling her that in the big girl school she would have to stop sucking her thumb because it was not allowed at big girl school....I remind her every time I see her sucking her thumb and it helps.
She is thrilled to be going to BIG school and she stops when I remind her. I've been doing this for a couple of months and the thumb sucking had died down I would say 60%..So I would say a good start....
I think it's hard because it's how they comfort themselves....and encouragement has helped me..
Hope you can figure a way that is best for you!
All the luck to you! :)
