I have an almost 5 year old son, over the past year he has develop really bad anger problems. He will yell, hit, and just destroy things when he gets just the little bit irriated! and the calmer i am the worse he is??? do i need to seek professional help or could this just be a phase?? help??

How is he in other enviroments such as school?  Does he have this problem elsewhere or at home only?  4 year olds are notoriously difficult (forget what they say about the terrible twos)-----  but if the anger issue is new, I'd wonder too what is going on to cause him to lash out more.  All kids get frustrated and many have difficulty expressing it----  but I can't tell from your description if this is something more.  It is never okay to hit someone or destroy things.  That is extreme.
