My son is 2 year old now and is going to play school. Inside the class he is very active and smart but when i drop him, he cries a lot near the gate. Once he is inside there seems to be no problem at all. Very adjustable. How do i make his crying behavior at the school gate stop. He simply cries.

Maybe your son still in the settling-in period (especially emotional side). He loved to explore in the nursery and responed actively which means he is interested the environment and willing to see/play. But emotionally, he misses you and wants to be with you. I think is worth to discuss with your son's teacher/nursery worker. Encourage your son to build a healthy relationship with his teacher and explain to him verbally.

Hope he enjoys the nursery totally.

I am a prek teacher of two yr olds. I Love babies and they can sense it after awhile but let's face it- at first I am like any other stranger. I ask mom to stay as long as she likes for a few weeks. Just letting MOM know I am not trying to push her out the door helps. But she usually follows the child's lead. Sometimes after a few days she can tell if she leaves the gate area, her child will probably start to calm sooner instead of drawing it out.

I ask mom to tell the child "Miss Mary loves you too" well I do, but the bond is not there yet for the child. He has to feel it so it actually has taken some kiddos til the end of the year. The thing is- they may even learn to love me but they LOOOOOVVE mom, as it should be.
I had one girl that would yell out one last yelp every day when momma left her, til the last week of school. It meant little more than "I'll miss you mom" but she had to get it out of her system.
