EEG in parkinson

Hi,
one of my family member is diagnosed as a parkinson disease
it's been more than 2 years now
the other day she went to the doctor & he asked her to do an EEG
i want to know .. why did he ask her to do it? i mean .. is there any benefit from doing EEG in parkinson disease?
