RLS

My oldest brother has parkinson's disease and takes carbadopa. He also had RLS.
RLS runs in my family on my mother's side. I have severe RLS and am taking mirapex.
I also have crohn's disease and several other problems. I understand that RLS is related to
parkinson's. Since I am the runt of the family and have been sick all my life with something
or other, is there a good chance I will get parkinson's as well?

wow! i could have written your post!  i have RLS, crohn's, am the runt of the family, and have had multiple illnesses since i was 17 (now 55).
during the last 2 years i have sustained multiple fractures - scapula, shoulder, knee, wrist, fingers -etc.  i seem to trip over dust, fall for no apparent reason.  since i have severe osteoporosis, when i fall, i break.
i started phys. therapy for balance, gait, etc, and am amazed at how bad my balance is!  i also seem to fall in a very rigid manner, like a child's toy wobbly.  i think these are parkinsons symptoms, and have been searching the web.  testing showed cerebellar atrophy on the mri,  severe djd of the neck, and very high homocysteine levels (which somehow relates to folic acid and stroke risk).
neuro doctor offered nothing, just folic acid pills and phys therapy to decrease my "anxiety about falling".
