Hi Justin,
I'm sorry you're not feeling well and I realize it can be frustrating not having any answers. The cytology report is a bit concerning and I think that a follow up appointment is probably appropriate. Not to raise any flags but anytime we have increased lymphocytes with immaturity I think that follow up is warranted (although I'm a somewhat cautious practitioner). Not that I think you have it but the concern is always of lymphoma. Once again, I don't think that's likely but that if you were my brother I would want that to be excluded.
Hope this helps,
John
Hello, i have a appt at columbia hospital in nyc the first week of may. They have a 2 day neurological, cognitive , medical evaluation. Its a second opion service if you have been to a lot of doctors and they cant figure out whats wrong. They specialize in long term effects of lyme disease but will try to diagnose if there is some other underlying cause of issues.
My main concern was the csf results and i wish i could of found a doctor sooner to do more testing but i hope this evaluation will address this concern i had.
I dont think i mentioned in first post but i did have lyme and bells palsey when i was 10 around a year apart. Was only treated for a couple weeks. And in last 15 years have had around 4 other tick bites.
So im not sure if these issues i have are from lyme , virus, mitochondrial, csf results, etc. i was given antibiotics last year for several months and it made minimal impact.
Have you made any additional appointments?
Thank you for responding. I intend to see a hematologist or a doctor that understands immature lymphocytes better.. I tried to make a appt with a hematologist but they said my doc had to refer me even though my insurance doesn't require referrals. The regular seen docs dont want to do refer me .The doctors that ive since since kinda are giving me run around saying they don't know ask the neurologist and she the one that said its normal.. Everything i could find on google searching immature lymphocytes in spinal fluid goes back to lymphoma. I couldn't find one article where it states they are occasionally seen in normal cases.
I will be looking for new doc/neurologist
Thank you.
