3 year old Rigt Ventricle high side of normal size

My 3 year old son just went to a pediatric cardiologist to have a heart murmur checked out. They did an echo and said he has a flow murmur and want to see him in a year because his right ventricle was on the higher side of normal size. He is also set to get an ECG tomorrow. I am worried sick about him and the doctor said they didn't want to speculate about the RV until they see him in a year. What could be wrong, is it ok if it is just at the higher side of normal size or should I be concerned about a more serious problem?
My son is really active, running around all the time was never sick until he started pre-school and has had croup, flu and colds. He currently has a dry cough that has been going on a while but the doctor says it is normal for children to get sick more often in their first year of school or daycare. Any information would be greatly appreciated

Did the Pediatric cardiologist restrict your son's activities; if not, that is a good sign. I know how worried you probably are but it is a good sign they want to see him again in a year's time. Usually most kids are in and out of the doctor's office every 3-6 months. My oldest daughter was on the high side of normal for the left ventricle and has been for several years (15+) and she is still doing fine. As the left ventricle is the main pumping chamber of the heart, it is always more serious if there is a problem found there. Getting sick during the first one or two years of school is the norm for all young children because they are around so many more children and their immune systems are starting to kick in dealing with viruses that they haven't been in contact with before.

Thank you so much for your reply I've been worrying about this and am glad to hear from someone that can understand and relate. They didn't restrict activities at all in fact she said to treat him like a normal 3 year old and not worry too much about it they just want to watch it and see what it does. She did mention he could possibly have had a small hole that has closed on its own and that might have caused the right side to become a little bit bigger. I am trying not to think the worst but its hard, like any mother I don't want to see anything happen to my child.
It's great to hear your daughter is doing well and again thank you for taking the time to respond it is greatly appreciated.
