Pulmonary valve stenosis and smoking

Hi,  My 15 year old daughter has PVS (it's minor and she has not needed surgery, thankfully).  Her ped. cardiologist and I have been open with her about the stenosis and how it may affect her life and what she needs to do to make sure she stays "heart healthy".  Well, last night I caught her smoking.  Neither I nor my husband smoke.  I want her to learn (in layman terms) how smoking can directly hurt her pulmonary valve but, other than how smoking lowers the levels of HDL, I am not sure what to tell her.  I would ask her dr. but he's away and I would like to nip this in the bud!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
