abnormal ekg

my son went in today for an EKG because his dr said he has a heart murmur the cardiologist said that he sounded fine but the EKG was abnormal they did a second one and it was the same he said it was reading that the heart was pumping from the opposite side that it was supposed to but then he did and echo-cardiogram and he later said that that looked fine but he has him on a 24 halter monitor and we are going in for a stress test next wednesday. should i be concerned about all of this or are the monitor and the stress test just a precaution? please help ease my mind some im very confused
