aortic root dilatation
On an echocardiogram report - in the findings & conclusion it is noted there is aortic root dilatation.  Would this be noted because of the diameter measurement or just from visualizing the picture of the aortic root and seeing that it looks dilated?

I'm by no means a medical expert but I can say from dealing with echo reports with my son who was just diagnosed with aortic root dilatation at age 9.His cardiologist looked at both his echo and the measurements taken when she came to the concusion that he now has aortic root dilatation.Hope his helps some..
