Hi. I have a 3 year old son who was diagnosed with a hyperthyroidism and low iron deficieny. The doctor ordered a Thyroid ultrasound; which confirmed a thyroid nodule. Zack is a very
hyperHyper-sal and has difficulty controlling his activity levels. The doctor has expressed he is ADHD with other related behavior issues. Currently he is being monitored by the doctor through repeat lab work. My concern is that he has not seen a Pediatric Endocrinologist for further eval. Zack is also experiencing severe mood swings; completely calm one moment and then has severe "meltdowns" where you cannot reason with him; I was told that the hyperthyroidism is playing a role in the ADHD.
