chest pain while lying on left side
For the past 4 days, when I'm in bed lying on my left side, I experience a rapid heart beat along with some mild chest pains. The chest pains feel like someone is pinching me from the inside.  Ocassionally I've felt this pain on the right side while lying down, but it's more prevelent on the left.  I've been waking up every morning feeling nauseated, but today that has not happened.  Also I feel this particular pain when I'm sitting, or standing.

Without knowing your age, I cannot make an accurate comment about this.  However, in the absence of other serious medical problems, in young people, sharp pinching chest pain, on either the right or left sides of the chest, is usually not of cardiac origin. You should speak with your local doctor, if you are also having other symptoms, such as nausea or a perception of rapid heart beats.
