my baby have 3mm vsd problem

Dear Sir,
My daughter have vsd problem, his age is 8 year old
Doctor say to me, your baby has “A perimembranous vsd of about 3mms is present with left to right flow across it". Surgery is not required for year of 10, so what we do help me please.

Dear John,

Without evaluating your daughter, I cannot say for sure, but most likely a 3 mm ventricular septal defect (VSD) is not causing any problems and does not need surgical repair at all.  The only reason that we would consider surgery for this is if the aortic valve leaflet was sucked down into the VSd and the aortic vale started to leak at least moderately.  Other than that, assuming no other heart problems, your daughter should be able to live a normal life without complications from this.
