10 month old has diarrhea and isn't urinating

My 10 & a half month old daughter has had diarrhea for the last 2 days, and hasn't been urinating, she's still drinking, but isn't eating. i had an after hours GP out to see her and he said that he thinks she just had a virus, but i'm at my wits end, she cries in pain won't eat as mcuh as usual, and has done all of 5 wee's in the last 48 hours :(

i don't know if i should just take this doctors word for it or get another opinion!

my heart says get another opinion, but my mind says im over reacting!

Hmm. She is probably losing a bit of water with her diarrhea and that may be cause for the scanty urine. However, since she has the diarrhea, even though Im sure you change her immediately, it IS possible for her to get a urinary tract infection from exposure to fecal bacteria. But it would be harder to diagnose since you might not be able to get pee in a cup. I'd give it a few more days, let the diarrhea clear up and then take her back if she still isnt back up to her normal wets a day.

She's drinking, and she's not vomiting at all, she only has 2 bouts of diarrhea in the morning and 2 at night. (which is gradually getting less) but she still isn't weeing much throughout the day... maybe twice if im lucky.

i'm not worried about dehydration, i'm just worried that maybe just maybe she might have some sort of bladder infection.

she has been immunized against rotovirus :S

The stomach flu (gastroenteritis) can wreak havoc thats for sure. It is probably Norovirus or Rotovirus. My 4 year old had it 2 years in a row (age 2 and age 3). We were in the same boat with diarrhea and not even being able to keep water down and not urinating. The ER both times, and he WAS dehydrated. What stinks is that you just have to let it run its coarse. They sent me home both times from the ER saying my son would be fine. What you need to watch for is if she gets lethargic. If she will not perk up and play at all, at least for a few minutes, if you have trouble rousing her from a nap. As long as she reponds and is alert to you talk to her , etc. she is probably okay. If you notice her getting less alert, she wont perk up and play AT ALL, or she begins sleeping all day, take her back to the ER. Hope she feels better. MM

update.

I Took her back to the doctor today, who seems to think she's fine, she's just dehydrated...SHE'S DRINKING 1.5ltrs of fluid a day MINIMUM!!! she can't be dehydrated.

then in the next breath he says that as long as she is doing 1 wee a day (which she is, but barely) then she's fine and not dehydrated!!

HELP!!
